Turning the horse's head around to the either side send a false signal to one of two "Baroreceptor Reflex" sensors located
high in the throat which stimulates the "Vagus nerve" which connects the brain and heart. The job of the Baroreceptor reflex is
to regulate the blody's blood pressure so if bloold pressure is low, the reflex will increase cardiac output (CO = HR X SV) and
the reflex will constrict arterioles & veins and vice versa.
This stimulation causes the heart to lower the horse's blood pressure as if they were already lying down and resting, enough to
make the horse feel sleepy and eventually lie down and rest..
