www.blindhorses.org Heel interessante site!
Dus ik denk wie niet vraagt, wie niet weet..!
Hello Steve,
I take part on a Dutch Forum and at this moment there is a gigantic discussion going on about a Blind Horse, the story is very long and the thread of it I am sure you have heard a thousand times, so I will make my question short.
Do you and your team use
clickertraining with the blind horses to train them not to be scared, find their way, their food and water etc. or do you train their seeing buddy in a different kind of guidehorse way?
I would appreciate your answer.
With best wishes, Marianne

(steve@rollingdogranch.org) Marianne, we haven’t used clicker training. We typically just show a blind horse his or her environment ... lead them around the paddock, show them the water tank, where the fence lines are, make the circuit as many times as they need to “get a fix,” and then they do fine. They make a mental map of their environment and then use this map to navigate around. Our blind horses are kept in pairs generally ... no seeing eye horses with them.

Dus Piet en Sarah, jullie kans om iets unieks te bewijzen..een trained guidehorse for the blind! Succes ermee .. ga de rapporten met veel interesse volgen.
