Kwam laatst ter sprake met iemand hier, maar weet niet meer wie dus zet het maar even voor iedereen leesbaar.
Heeft niets met hoef-natuurlijk te maken, maar wel met de vraag of zoiets KAN:

EXTRAORDINARY amputee horse Barnaby is set to have a false hoof fitted.
The cross-bred Appaloosa is believed to be the only horse in the country to undergo such an operation, which will see a special hoof flown in from the US.
His owner Jan Munns, of Wollaston Road, Irchester, took the decision to help her pet after discovering that vets in America performed this type of surgery on horses.
Barnaby had to have his front right hoof amputated after years of trouble which culminated in the blood supply stopping.
Mrs Munns, 53, who transports patients for Two Shires Ambulance, said: "The vet said we would have to have him put down, but I said no – I wanted to give him every chance.
"I have felt desperate because I didn't want to lose him and he's such a good friend.
"The day he looks at me and says, 'I want to go', then I'll let him go, but while he's got this tremendous spirit I will carry on."
His hoof was cut off just below the fetlock and he currently wears a temporary false one made by the Dorset Orthopaedic Company.
Now a "flexi foot" is being made specially for him in San Francisco which should enable the 12-year-old – who is being kept currently at Avondale, a hospital for horses in Banbury – to canter properly again, although it will not be possible to ride him.

"If it works and I can see him run again it will all be worth it."

Het kwam ter sprake in een gesprek met mij. Het was een ongeluk in de wei bij de paarden van een vriendin van me. De ex weidegenoot van ons oudje is een dominante dame, die kwam ook op een nieuwe plek, bij de paarden van een vriendin van me, die collega van ons oudje spoort niet helemaal en mept er op los. Ze mepte het oudje van mijn vriendin, en die brak haar been. De hoef bungelde erbij, en stierf heel erg snel af. Toen de DA er was, was de hoef al afgestorven en moest haar oudje inslapen.
Ze stond erbij te grazen alsof ze geen pijn had, maar kon niet meer van haar plek. Als dit bekend was dat het een mogelijkheid had kunnen zijn was er nog een keuze geweest.
Heel droevig allemaal.
